Last Sunday we went to a different city. It is Kansas City. There are two cities, one in the state of Missouri, and the other (a smaller one) is in the state of Kansas. They are separated by a road, The State Line Road. One side of the road is the state of Missouri, the other side is Kansas. It`s very funny.
First we met Jose Faus, a Colombian artist who lives in Kansas City for more than 30 years. He works with the immigrants, people that are called minorities, but that are growing in number. They established in that part of the town, and they have a lot of problems with gangs and the poverty in general. Jose paints murals that portrait the different kinds of immigrants and their unity and partnership. His work can be seen at this website.
Afterwards we went to the American Jazz Museum. I'll talk more about it later, and show you the pictures.
